Often we hear the phrase, “Don’t worry about it, it’s not the end of the world.” Then I ask, “Is it?” of course it is an absolutely right. A lot of friends will come to say the same things to cheer someone, when one made a mistake.
It is not the end of the world although one causes a lot of complaints due to their actions. The main things are one does not cause any injuries or killed by their action, so we say, “It is not the end of the world.” Hitherto if one cause severed damage on others, such as hurts, or killed, we still can say, “It is not the end of the world.” They have to live with the consequences, they learnt from their mistakes and move on. The world is not end is a perfect phrase to comment on those situations.
The world is unstoppable. One mistake does not end the world. People get hurts or injured everyday around the world. One’s worry about their consequences also does not affect on every body. One might feel that the world collapses on him or her. Then one has to put the world on his or her shoulder due to the mistake, as the situation is irreversible, nothing can be done to fix them.
It is not the end of the word is a just a phrase that people would say in different meaning, “Do not worry, be happy what you got, and learn from your mistakes, and let’s move on.” What if only the mistake one’s have is to end his or her life, once again “It is not the end of the world.” The world will still run without him or her. The family who left behind (one’ wife or husband, one’s children) will move on, the memory will fade away and live goes on.
Then we ask our selves, when is actually the end of the world? Is it coming yet? No one knows yet. I am hoping get told very soon.
This phrase is also sensitive and tricky in an Australian way of life, no one world use it in the mourning circumstances. I would advise you not to use them when someone just looses their family member. It feels insensitive. Of course the world does not end when we lost our father, mother or even our child, but by saying, “It is not the end of the world, it shows that the person does not understand the sadness and empathy in other people’s life.
What would you do if your friend asks you to use it to?
